With stores designed to provide cost savings and efficiencies, budget retailer and German-based Aldi has been expanding rapidly in Minnesota. The Lyndale avenue store, the 5th store in Minneapolis, opened in August 2019 below the Rex 26 residential building and serves as the first commercial grocer in the area. With a bus stop right at the front of the store, access is improved for city residents. “Revolution” spells the painting that covers the store’s windows, a fitting inspiration from the country whose divided city was reunited after 27 years with the fall of the Berlin wall in 1991.
