The plywood that covered the windows of 800 West Broadway came down on June 7. The building opens doors to employment, education, and healthy living, the three pillars of moving toward the creation of Culturally Enriched Communities, healthy and connected communities in which everyone can thrive. CareerForce helps job seekers. The satellite unit of NorthPoint Health provides medical, behavioral, dental, and human services to all, regardless of ability to pay. And the Minneapolis Public Schools’ Adult Education program connects individuals to the skills, supports and opportunities they need to gain stability and self-sufficiency. The building also provides community rooms for meetings as well as opportunities for different non-profits to connect and collaborate. Designed by Sherman & Associates, plans for the 800 West Broadway location started in 2008 with the envisioning of a new WorkForce Center in North Minneapolis.
