Residents gathered to protest the death of George Floyd on May 26, transforming streets into mediums of change. Close to 20% of the area’s population is Black and 14.6% lack access to a vehicle. Streets are not only landscapes that allow us to get from one place to another. Once filled with humans, streets have the power to inform the direction of societal change, flattening the inequality curve and bringing racial justice–Blacks are 3 times more likely to be killed by police.
