As New York City came to a halt, a resident kneels outside St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church to pray. A  prayer was taped to the door: “Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.” Roosevelt Avenue is a bustling commercial corridor in Queens and a stronghold of the Latino community. Recovery is expected to be challenging.
